Bullwinkle fielded two teams in the 2025 Qld Teams Champs. Not for the first time in our long and chaotic history, we neglected to think up proper team names. Results consequently suffered!

Juan Camilo Tirado and Jaymarc Gutierrez debuted for Bullwinkle #1, proving most welcome additions. Juan won the board 3 prize with 6/7. Jayden Ooi scored an unbeaten 5½/7. A last-round match victory would have seen Bullwinkle take to the podium, but in the end we had to content ourselves with 4th.

Bullwinkle #2 finished a creditable 12th while somehow managing to score more match points than Bullwinkle #1. Jason Chan notched 7/7 to take the board 5 prize.

In terms of milestones, Will Searle played his 20th rapid game for Bullwinkle, thereby entering the hall of fame. Jayden Ooi and Brian Thomas played their 40th games, Stuart Holt his 50th, and Halim Nataprawira his 60th. Bruce Williams scored his 50th rapid victory!
Bullwinkle’s youngest player, Sebastian Williams, scored 4½/7 to take the board 3 junior prize… playing for Mars Chess Club!
